Womens Fitness Celebration 5K this weekend in Boise was a blast! A sea of 15,00+ women celebrating being women by walking together no matter what level of fitness shape you are in! It was an awesome experience walking with family, & friends to celebrate being a woman!

Logan & Top of Utah Marathon Weekend

I just returned from the annual Top of Utah Marathon Logan, UT trip. I didn't run it this year, but my bro-in-law & friends ran...& it was a blast! I love cheering on the runners/walkers & am amazed at their perseverence- it's inspiring. I also had fun taking pictures which has become a new hobby that I enjoy...so I took pictures of everything from runners, fam/friends, lanscapes, & even family pictures!

Top of Utah Half Marathon 2009

WE MADE IT!!! Notice the soreness & exhaustion in the finsh line pictures! We made it through though. For the next race I try I'm going to try & shoot to actually train for it! The TOU half & marathon is a gorgeous route in Logan, UT!! Love it!

Bellingham Washington Trip Aug 2009

My Mom & I made the drive to Bellingham, Washington to visit my brother Benj & Amy. It was a quick, but fun trip! It was gorgeous and so green there! They have the coolest parks ever that make you feel like you're in the forest, & are also right on the Puget Sound! Gorgeous & it was so fun to see them, & play with Chowder & Lucky!!

This guy is absolutely crazy & amazing. Aaron Fotheringham 17 years of age, was born with Spina Bifida and has shown that nothing is impossible! With a little nudge from your brothers down the BMX bike ramp to get you started...anything can happen! At the age of 14 years of age accomplished the first wheelchair backflip...amazing!

DEER! On the way home from church a few weeks ago when it was actually warm, Adrianne and I saw this herd of deer just down the street from the church just grazing and enjoying life, so of course we stopped! They actually let us get fairly close within 30' of them before they began to care, and move on! This single doe didn't like the path that her friends were taking, and wouldnt follow them...she looked worried, and contemplated for a minute or so before she figured another path that would connect her back with her buddies. Felt bad for the the poor deer! (literally-haha)

Great Aging Adventure

In our PTA program we have been learning about the aging process in our gerontology class. As part of our learning, we had an 'Adventure' to fulfill to get a better picture of being 'old'! We put on these aging suits which cinch down so that you are stuck hunched over, with stiff joints, cataracts, poor hearing,difficulty picking up feet and overall slowness...then add in a walker and you get the picture. This was an experience that left me sore, and I definately have a lot more sympathy and empathy for my elders! Makes me grateful for my body & a desire to take better care of myself now in preparation for the future!

Winter Ducks

This dates back a year or so, but it makes me giggle! A few of us were out visiting Gardner Village during the Christmas season. We all went our separate ways so Adrianne & I were walking in and out of the shops. The last shop of the day was a fabric shop which I opted to wait outside of. Well the shop is right next to a creek which was frozen over. I began watching few ducks that were sitting on the frozen over creek and decided to take a picture of them. So as I take the shot, suddenly the ducks stood up and began walking in a row toward me on the bank. I took a few more pictures, and a gentleman came to stand next to me. The ducks continued to walk across the ice closer and closer until they were at our feet on the bank begging for a treat. Neither of us had food with us, but the ducks still tried to nibble on our fingers! It was hilarious, and Adrianne came out quite shocked as I was squatted down next to the ducks! It was a had to be there moment but it was funny!

I've recently joined up with a group of classmates in a mini biggest loser contest. The idea is to get us, Physical Therapist Assistant students in better shape for our clinicals and profession, and of course to lose a little of the extra cushioning lining my body in the process. As most of us in the world know that after you've been out of shape, it's seriously difficult to get back into shape again. One of my favorite 'youtube' videos is about Team Hoyt!! They are amazing, and an absolute inspiration for me...perhaps a reminder that 'I CAN'! Check it out:

Friends make life easier and for sure more enjoyable! I'm grateful for this friend that helps me all around in life & is a blast to be around! This picture is from this last fall when we went to a corn maze...needless to say we got lost a lot to the point of frustration for both of us! I am grateful for friends that help me through these lost moments in my life!
